The first meeting of GYMKHANA 5.0: CULTURAL HERITAGE FOR YOUTH project was held on April 2, 2020. Due to the global emergency COVID-19, the various partners held their first meeting thanks to an online conference.
The meeting however proved to be really productive, thanks to the creation of an agenda by the project coordinator, the partners were able to discuss the different steps to start the project.
GYMKHANA is a project involving partners from different European countries: Spain – Castilla y León Youth Council and Aspaym Castilla y León Foundation, Italy – CEIPES, Cyprus – Dione Youth Organization and Portugal.
The main purpose of the GYMKHANA project is to increase knowledge of the European heritage among young people, in particular young people with fewer opportunities (refugees and migrants, people with disabilities, people with social and economic obstacles, etc.).
This will happen through the development, experimentation and implementation of an innovative Gamification tool.
A mobile application accessible to everyone will be created: “Gymkhana 5.0: educational game”. The goal of this mobile educational game is to generate a specific methodological tool through the implementation of gamification to facilitate knowledge and learning of the European heritage and cultural education in the field of youth and facilitate their access in particular to young people with fewer opportunities.
During the meeting the partners discussed the project structure and the first activities to be undertaken.
The coordinator of the Castilla y León Youth Council project welcomed us by introducing the different partners, these had the opportunity to introduce themselves and subsequently explained the project in detail, setting out the objectives, the methodology and introducing the different roles of the partners.
During the meeting, the contents of the APP, the intellectual result of the project, and the activities to be carried out were discussed. In addition, the project dissemination strategy presented by CEIPES was discussed.
At the end of the meeting the coordinator gave the tasks to the partners and the meeting ended with a further virtual meeting on 8 May 2020 with the aim of reviewing the progress of the project.
